Temperature: For this variety of mushroom, we recommend a temperature below 23 C.
Humidity Tent/Humidifier: Lion’s Mane requires a good amount of humidity and can be prone to drying out if the ambient humidity is too low, we recommend giving it a humidity tent. Take a plastic bag or trash bag and poke 2-3 holes in the inside. Spray water in the inner surface of the bag so it creates a damp and moist environment for the mushrooms to grow. Alternatively, a strong humidifier will ensure impressive yields and fluffy fruiting bodies.
We are an environmentally conscious and sustainable brand aiming to be as carbon-neutral as possible. In case you do not want the spray bottle or would like the kit to be shipped out with minimal use of plastic.

Lions Mane (Hericium erinaceus)
Hericium erinaceus is a variety of functional mushrooms known for its use in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The mushroom is abundant in bioactive compounds including β-glucan polysaccharides; hericenones and erinacine terpenoids; isoindolinones; sterols; and myconutrients, which potentially have neuroprotective and neuroregenerative properties. With a mild, sweet flavor with a hint of seafood, making it a great addition to any dishes that require an herby kick. It’s also great when cooked up with mushrooms like shiitake or oyster. For those looking to add a nutty taste, Lions Mane can be easily combined with garlic and butter. No matter how you enjoy it, Lions Mane is sure to bring bright flavor and texture to any dish you create!
With its uniquely exciting common names such as old man’s beard, hedgehog fungus, hedgehog goatee, Yamabushitake (“mountain monk mushroom”) in Japan, in Hou Tou Gu (“monkey head mushroom”) in China – Lions Mane has had its fair share of linguistic expression.
